Coast of the Mines: our natural set
The festival takes place in one of Sardinia's most fascinating and least touristy landscapes: wild sea, iconic beaches and cliffs; historic mines, archaeological sites and natural caves; small villages rich in character.
Far from the frenetic idea of a Sardinia on holiday, during the festival week, the Fluminese area transforms into a gateway to the world .
The Andaras Traveling Film Festival takes place along the Cost of the Mines, in southwestern Sardinia, crossing in particular the areas of Fluminimaggiore, Buggerru and Iglesias.
It is a landscape steeped in identity, where sea and mountains meet and coexist with a profound historical stratification. Alongside the now-abandoned mining structures, there are caves, springs, long beaches, and some of the most extensive and wild coastal systems on the island, along with Nuragic remains and Roman sites that tell a thousand-year history.
The festival thus constructs a widespread itinerary that traverses contiguous yet distinct territories, highlighting their specificities within a single geographical and cultural narrative. In this context, cinema is not just screening but an opportunity for encounter. The program intertwines visions, guests, explorations, and convivial moments, transforming the region into a living space to be traversed and shared .
