Ieri si è conclusa la seconda edizione dell'Andaras Traveling Film Festival, un'edizione che mesi fa sembrava impossibile, e invece c'è stata, in totale sicurezza, e vissuta dai cittadini di Fluminimaggiore e da turisti di passaggio con grande entusiasmo. Non solo, quest'anno abbiamo avuto il piacere di avere come ospiti molti registi e registe con opere in concorso, dando la possibilità al pubblico di conoscere meglio gli autori e le autrici dei bellissimi corti che abbiamo proiettato tra il parco Riola e Portixeddu.
“Non è stato facile programmare un evento di questo livello in soli due mesi e in uno scenario di incertezze come quello che stiamo vivendo – commenta Marco Corrias, sindaco di Fluminimaggiore e ideatore di Andaras – La risposta responsabile del pubblico e l'affluenza dei turisti è la conferma che la cultura non va messa in lockdown e che nuove modalità di partecipazione collettiva e responsabile sono possibili.”
E a dispetto di ogni previsione “Quest'anno siamo cresciuti nei numeri – assicura Juanne Piras, direttore artistico di Andaras – soprattutto per ciò che riguarda la partecipazione al festival da parte di persone che si sono messe in viaggio per raggiungerci. Non posso che essere enormemente soddisfatto per come sono andate le cose, per la selezione delle 26 opere in concorso, e per le decisioni della nostra giuria.”

STICKER di Giorgi M. Unkovski / Macedonia (2020)
Brillante commedia dark, in cui il personaggio principale cercherà di dimostrare di essere pronto a tutto pur di vedere la recita di sua figlia, alla fine di quella che sarà, un'incredibile giornata di follia. L'adesivo/ THE STICKER, che sembra essere la cosa più facile da ottenere per un cittadino che vuole soddisfare alcune richieste amministrative da parte delle autorità competenti, creerà una serie di vere e proprie disavventure al limite tra il surreale e il grottesco, esilarante e con la tendenza sempre a strappare una risata dall’amaro retrogusto, per uno spettatore che finirà con simpatizzare per il povero Dejan, che dovrà penare e non poco!
Per la capacità di tenerci incollati allo schermo, di strapparci una risata agrodolce e di ricordarci che anche le cose semplici, possono trasformarsi in avventure complicatissime.
BEST DOCU SHORT 2020
12000km di Erik Nylander / Svezia (2019)
Originale nel soggetto e nella regia, ironico e ritmico nel montaggio, il film documenta un viaggio di un gruppo di sciatori da Stoccolma al Giappone raccontando una storia, a tratti epica a tratti umoristica, con uno sguardo cinematografico che conferisce dignità e dinamismo al genere del documentario.

THE BIG ESCAPE di Hermes Mangialardo / Italia (2018)
Per la capacità di costruire in poco più di un minuto, con tensione crescente, una classica storia da heist movie, che poi si conclude con un inaspettato e riuscitissimo colpo di scena, trasformando la narrazione e la natura stessa del film.
BEST GAZE FROM THE WORLD 2020
FUEGO di Vladimir Bodiroga / Francia (2019)
Una fotografia nitida e potente trasmette allo spettatore panorami e volti delle antiche terre Maya, intrecciandoli ad una religiosità evoluta dagli elementi naturali - l'acqua, la terra e soprattutto il fuoco - al cristianesimo e all'"unico Salvatore". È un viaggio nel tempo, più che nello spazio, segnato dal terrore e dall'adorazione del vulcano Fuego, tornato ad eruttare due mesi dopo le riprese di queste spettacolari immagini.

APOLLO 18 di Marco Renda / Italia (2019)
Un film capace di riportare lo spettatore nei meccanismi del gioco e della fascinazione per l’avventura che tutti abbiamo provato da bambini, unendo quell’emozione a quella di un incontro inaspettato con una persona che ha compiuto un viaggio altrettanto complesso, lungo e determinante per le vite di chi lo affronta, come quello dei migranti.

SUPER EASTBOUND BROS. di Waldemar Schleicher / Germania (2019)
Un'opera che ha la capacità di coinvolgerci e farci sentire al fianco dei protagonisti per tutto il tempo della loro pazza avventura. Dal gelo del Kirghizistan fino ai 32 gradi del Vietnam, è facile affezionarsi alla folle impresa di Tobias e Matthias. I loro 13000 chilometri in bicicletta, il senso dell'avventura che li ha portati a ripercorrere la Via della Seta sfidando climi ostili e pedalate estenuanti, meritano a parere unanime della giuria il premio speciale Andaras.

AUSONIA (1946 - 1961) di Giulia Camba e Elisa Meloni / Italia (2019)
Per la capacità di trasportarci in un mondo fatto di sensazioni, ricordi, suggestioni. Per essere riuscite a farlo con un linguaggio sperimentale, fresco e mai banale. Per averci accompagnati in un viaggio nel tempo, attraverso suoni e immagini che sembrano riemergere con forza delicata dai luoghi della memoria.
Per queste ragioni, siamo felici di aver dato una menzione speciale a Giulia e Elisa per il loro Ausonia.
Yesterday we concluded the second edition of the Andaras Traveling Film Festival, an edition that seemed impossible months ago, but instead happened, in total safety, and was experienced with great enthusiasm by the citizens of Fluminimaggiore and tourists passing by. Not only that, this year we had the pleasure of having as guests many directors with works in the competition, giving the public the opportunity to learn more about the authors of the beautiful short films that we have screened between the Riola park and Portixeddu.
"It was not easy to plan an event of this level in just two months and in a scenario of uncertainties like the one we are experiencing - comments Marco Corrias, Mayor of Fluminimaggiore and creator of Andaras - The responsible response from the public and the turnout of tourists is the confirmation that culture should not be locked down and that new ways of collective and responsible participation are possible. “
And in spite of all predictions “This year we have grown in numbers - assures Juanne Piras, artistic director of Andaras - especially regarding the participation to the festival of people who have travelled to join us. STICKER by Giorgi M. Unkovski / Macedonia (2020)
Brilliant dark comedy, in which the main character will try to prove that he is ready to do anything to see his daughter's performance, at the end of what will be an incredible day of madness. The sticker, which seems to be the easiest thing to get for a citizen who wants to satisfy some administrative requests from the competent authorities, will create a series of real misadventures on the edge between surreal and grotesque; hilarious and always snatching a laugh with a bitter aftertaste for the viewer who will end up sympathizing for poor Dejan, who will have to suffer more than just a little!
For the ability to keep us glued to the screen, to get a bittersweet laugh and to remind us that even simple things can turn into very complicated adventures, The prize for the best narrative short goes to STICKER, by Georgi Unkovski.
BEST DOCU SHORT 2020
12000km by Erik Nylander / Sweden (2019)
With an original subject and direction, ironic and rhythmic editing, the film documents a journey of a group of skiers from Stockholm to Japan, telling a story sometimes epic and at times humorous, with a cinematic look that gives dignity and dynamism to the genre of documentary.
For this reason, the jury unanimously decided to award the Docu-Short category prize to the film 12,000 km documentary by Erik Nylander.

BEST GAZE FROM THE WORLD 2020
FUEGO by Vladimir Bodiroga / France (2019)
We decided to give the Gazes from the world award to "Fuego", by Vladimir Bodiroga, in particular for the strength of the images. A sharp and powerful photography conveys to the viewer landscapes and faces of the ancient Mayan lands, intertwining them with a religiosity evolved from the natural elements - water, earth and above all fire - to Christianity and the "only Savior". It's a travel through time, rather than space, marked by terror and adoration of the Fuego volcano, which erupted again two months after the shooting of these spectacular images.

For the ability to bring us back into the mechanics of playing and the fascination for adventure that we all felt as children, combining that feeling with the one of an unexpected meeting with a person who has made an equally complex journey, long and decisive for the lives of those who do so, like the one who migrants, the Special Jury Prize goes to APOLLO 18.

For the ability to involve us and make us feel at their side in this crazy adventure. From the frost of the Kyrgyzstan up to 32 degrees of Vietnam, it's easy to get attached to Tobias and Matthias's crazy enterprise. Their 13,000 kilometers by bike, the sense of adventure that led them to retrace the Silk Road braving hostile climates and exhausting rides, deserve with the unanimous opinion of the jury the Andaras special prize.
Super Eastbound Bros. is the journey that all of us would have liked to have done at least once in our life.
