As the festival reaches its midway point, the spotlight turns to one of the most acclaimed actors in contemporary Italian cinema: Adriano Giannini.
An actor whose career has crossed genres, languages and international productions, Giannini will take part in an open conversation with the audience. An opportunity to revisit his artistic journey, hear his perspective on the craft of acting and gain insight into a significant chapter of Italian cinema over the past two decades.

Adriano Giannini
Adriano Giannini began working in the film industry at a very young age as a camera assistant, collaborating for more than a decade with directors such as Giuseppe Tornatore, Ermanno Olmi and Anthony Minghella. After completing his training as an actor, he made his screen debut in 2001 with Alla rivoluzione sulla due cavalli by Maurizio Sciarra and gained international recognition through Guy Ritchie’s Swept Away, starring opposite Madonna.
Since then, he has successfully balanced Italian productions and international projects, working with directors including Paolo Sorrentino, Steven Soderbergh, Gabriele Muccino, Ferzan Özpetek, Saverio Costanzo, Michele Alhaique, Claudio Noce, Giuseppe Gaudino, Giovanni Veronesi and Stefano Sollima.
His film credits include The Consequences of Love (Le conseguenze dell’amore), Ocean’s Twelve, Kiss Me Again (Baciami ancora), Black Gold, For Your Love (Per amor vostro), Without Mercy (Senza nessuna pietà), The Ice Forest (La foresta di ghiaccio), Morrison, Adagio, Six Brothers (Sei fratelli) and A Brief Love Story (Breve storia d’amore). For his performance in Adagio, he received nominations for both the David di Donatello Awards and the Nastri d’Argento Awards for Best Actor.
On television, he has appeared in productions including Luisa Sanfelice, Missing, In Treatment, The Cosmopolitans, Bang Bang Baby, Supersex and ACAB.
As a voice actor, he has won two Nastri d’Argento Awards and has dubbed performers such as Heath Ledger, Joaquin Phoenix, Jude Law, Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey. He remains the only Italian actor to have voiced the Joker character on two separate occasions.
Giannini has also worked as a director, making his debut with the short film Il Gioco, based on a story by Andrea Camilleri, followed by Sarà per un’altra volta, which was presented at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
