- 2 min read
Saturday evening brings Andaras to one of the festival’s most evocative locations, where cinema becomes an opportunity to reflect on the present and open a conversation around themes of human rights, migration and inclusion.
At the heart of the evening is a special encounter with Amnesty International Italy, Francesca Corbo and Valeria Solarino, bringing together testimony, artistic experience and civic engagement in a shared moment of dialogue.
On a day dedicated to those who cross borders, Andaras invites audiences to engage with stories that are not distant realities, but narratives that speak directly to our time and the responsibilities it carries.

Andaras Cinema Talk with Francesca Corbo e Valeria Solarino
09:45 PM / Portixeddu, Fluminimaggiore
In recent years, civil society actors and NGOs involved in search and rescue operations at sea have increasingly been stigmatized, targeted and criminalized for their efforts to defend the rights of migrants and refugees.
During this conversation, we will explore the case of Sean Binder, a German activist accused of facilitating irregular migration. Under investigation since 2018, he was recently acquitted of all charges in what has been described as one of the most significant trials concerning the criminalization of solidarity.
The talk will be followed by the screening of a video interview created by Valeria Solarino, examining the contradictions and dangers of criminalizing those who work to save lives at sea.
