The fifth day of the Andaras Festival offers you a special encounter with one of the most beloved actresses on the modern film scene: Carolina Crescentini. On 19 July 2024, at 7.00 pm in Piazza Lamarmora, in the heart of Iglesias, the magic of cinema and the beauty of the setting will come together to create an unmissable event for all film enthusiasts and beyond! Joining Carolina Crescentini on stage will be two leading figures in the Italian cultural scene: Monica Nappo, a celebrated actress and director known for her energy and talent, and Enrica Pintore, an actress respected for her in-depth knowledge of the entertainment world.
Carolina Crescentini, the star of the iconic TV series "Boris", directed by Luca Vendruscolo, in which she played the role of “Corinna Negri”, has established herself as one of the most talented and versatile actresses in contemporary Italian cinema. She made her film debut in 2007 in "Notte prima degli esami - Oggi", directed by Fausto Brizzi. That same year, she appeared in Giuliano Montaldo’s “I demoni di San Pietroburgo”.
In 2008, in Massimo Venier’s "Generazione mille euro", Crescentini explored the world of young Italian adults grappling with everyday challenges, confirming her talent and versatility. One of her most acclaimed roles came in 2010 with "Mine vaganti", directed by Ferzan Ozpetek. In this film, Crescentini excels in the role of Alba, a strong and determined woman, a performance that earned her the Nastro d’Argento for Best Supporting Actress. Her performance strikes a perfect balance between comedy and drama, demonstrating once again her ability to navigate different genres. The following year, Carolina starred in "Boris - Il film", directed by Luca Vendruscolo. A film adaptation of the famous TV series, the film allowed Crescentini to showcase her comic talent. Her brilliant performance earned her another Nastro d'Argento, cementing her status as an eclectic actress.
In the 2012 movie "Una famiglia perfetta", directed by Paolo Genovese, Crescentini explores complex and often hilarious family dynamics. In 2015, Carolina starred in "Maraviglioso Boccaccio", a film by the Taviani brothers inspired by Boccaccio’s Decameron. Her performance helps bring ancient stories to life with a modern and sophisticated touch. 2018 saw her star in two significant films: Gabriele Muccino’s “A casa tutti bene” and Christian Marazziti’s “Sconnessi”. In the former, Carolina plays a woman grappling with complex family dynamics in an intense drama. In the latter, she brings comic insights to a film that reflects on the problems of technological addiction.
We are delighted to welcome such a versatile and multifaceted artist as Carolina Crescentini, who brings to every screen appearance a performance that not only entertains, but inspires and moves the audience, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who watch her.
We look forward to seeing you there!
