On 18 July 2024 in Piazza Lamarmora in Iglesias, Francesco Motta, a multifaceted figure with deep ties to contemporary Italian music, will take us on a journey through words and music on stage on the fourth day of the Andaras Travelling Film Festival.
The event will be presented by Ilaria Porceddu, a talented artist who has collaborated with the likes of Ron and Gino Paoli, as well as the renowned conductor Peppe Vessichio. In 2013, she took part in the Sanremo Festival, coming second in the Young Artists category, and released the album "In Equilibrio", a beautiful fusion of music and lyrics.
The event promises an unmissable experience where art, conversation and music blend into a single symphony. Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to enjoy an evening in the company of two highly talented artists.
Known for his unique take on punk, which goes beyond aesthetics to embrace substance and ideas, Motta began his career with the album “La Fine dei Vent’Anni” in 2016, which won the PIMI Special Prize and the Targa Tenco. His second album, “Vivere o morire”, released in 2018, reached number one in the vinyl sales charts and won the Targa Tenco for best album, making him the first artist to receive two Targa Tenco awards for his first two albums.
In 2019, Motta took part in the Sanremo Festival with “Dov’è l’Italia”, winning the award for best duet with Nada. He recently published his book “Vivere la musica” and his third album, “Semplice”. In 2023, he returned with the single “Anime Perse” and announced a new club tour, culminating in the release of his new album “La musica è finita”. Every track on “La musica è finita” is a unique sonic portrait, enriched by new instrumental experiments and the creative use of piano and electronic composition. This innovative approach not only refreshes Motta’s sound but also reinforces his vocation as a musician constantly seeking new challenges.
Motta is currently touring Italy, also promoting the soundtrack to the film “THE CAGE - NELLA GABBIA”.

The festival events will continue at the Chiostro di San Francesco in Iglesias with the “Cinema d’Amarcord” evening, during which the following short films in competition will be screened:
